The Zipp G40 XPLR is a wide (40mm) tire designed for control, which translates in the gravel world to higher overall speed. In developing this tire, Zipp began with a speed-carrying chevron center-tread pattern that transitions to an inverted soccer cleat design, then added XC-style knobs on the edges that offer the ability to dig in when you need it. Byway 34 is an identical replacement to the previously named Exposure 34 tire. We renamed the tire to create a uniform naming structure where all tires are named according to the tread pattern.
SG2 PUNCTURE PROTECTION:
Most sizes of this tire are available with our all-new SG2 Puncture Protection, which is a lightweight nylon insert that provides bead-to-bead coverage and ensures every area of the tire is defended against slashes and punctures. As events become progressively rougher and cyclists pedal farther, gravel gets tougher. It only makes sense for gravel tires to become tougher as well. Please refer to the charts below to determine which versions are available with SG2.
- Nylon fibers have a flat profile, which reduces the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between fibers and minimizes weight.

Judge is our rowdiest rear tire…for loose, sketchy descents. Judge with SG1 is WTB's rowdiest and toughest rear-focused tire. Centerline knobs alternate between long and wide to provide the hard braking traction and efficiency required of a rear tire. Burly outer knobs provide support and dig in to keep you glued threw off-camber corners. Judge features a flatter tire profile than most other tires, which makes it easier to reach the outer knobs when cornering. The Judge keeps everything in order, whether dry and loose or wet and sloppy. SG1 puncture protection runs under the tread cap and has extended bead protection.
- Massive knobs in every area of the tread prove that the Judge prioritizes traction above all else. Long, thick knobs till through rocky terrain without folding under heavy cornering forces. Each knob features full-length siping to essentially double the amount of knob edges contacting the trail.

All new WTB tires are packaged using 100% recycled materials and zero plastic. Our engineers and marketing team are constantly working towards reducing the amount of packaging our products requiring, while still providing you with the necessary information to make an informed purchasing decision. It's no small task, but minimizing the total amount of packaging has become an integral part of product development.
This results in simplistic packaging using more recycled materials and less zip ties. In the next few years, we're working to ensure 100% of WTB packaging goes in the recycling bins.
